In one week, I'll be leaving the late Ontario summer to work in Alert, Nunavut. I'm told that it is the farthest North a person can feasibly live...
It's in the arctic.
It's cold.
For half of the year it gets absolutely NO sunlight.
I am more of a hot weather, waves and sunshine kind of girl. I like temperatures that leave beads of perspiration on people's forearms. I usually tolerate winter, so this concept of relocating to a perpetually frozen landscape is something that I still can't fully understand.
But, it is an adventure, and against all odds, I am ridiculously excited.
